MacroEnergy LLC of California designs, manufactures, and markets fully engineered,
turn-key solar energy systems for government/public buildings, private homes, commercial buildings, industrial buildings, hospitals, schools, military installations, and others.  Export licenses have been obtained from the US Dept. of Commerce Bureau of Export Administration, and all systems are UL approved.

Annemarie has many years in founding and operating a number of businesses ranging from manufacturing, to wholesale distribution, to retail operations and sales.  A native of Denmark, and a U.S. citizen, she holds degrees and high honors in management, accounting, and public relations.  Annemarie has held major ownership interests in businesses in Europe and the United States, and has wide spread experience in international business associations.  She currently holds a patent for the SolarCombo® combined electric power and heat collection solar panel and system.

Don has 40 years in engineering and program management for electrical and mechanical systems and products, working at some of the most prestigious engineering firms in the world.  He holds a BSEE from Purdue University and an MSSE form the University of Houston, obtained while working with NASA on the Space Shuttle.  He is a registered electrical engineer (CA #E75770) with the State of California and has a California general contractor’s license (CA #566357). He holds two patents for the SolarCombo®.

While electricity was being effectively harnessed by classical solar panel collector systems,the Konolds witnessed that the heat being generated by the panels was going to waste.  Thus, they founded MacroEnergy, LLC in November of 1999 and embarked on a plan to capture that heat and harness it into a system that could simultaneously heat water.  Don Konold subsequently designed the SolarCombo® system that flows water through coiled pipes placed underneath the panels, in a self-contained panel fixture, to provide natural heating for water systems in both commercial and residential structures.  Finding that no one else had developed such a system, the Konold's successfully patented the design and obtained UL approval.
